SUMMARY:Webinar: Expanding Our Role — A Focus on Reducing Systemic Risk with Lorraine Gambacourt\, RDH (Part 1)
DESCRIPTION:Positively influencing oral-systemic health…What does that look like to you? It’s a given that oral health impacts systemic health. Yet\, do we consistently evaluate our current methods of assessment and treatment and introduce changes that can bring about improved\, more sustainable health outcomes? \nA truly valuable and committed Dental Hygienist is never satisfied with the “status quo”. We must continually evolve and expand our knowledge to be able to educate our clients while implementing health strategies and modalities that promote a healthy biofilm\, advance oral health\, and reduce systemic risk. I believe to be effective we must apply a four-stage approach. \nIn this webinar\, I will be touching on some important concepts of the first three stages: \n\nA review of assessment strategies and some of the key risk factors that can significantly affect client outcomes and systemic health.\nWe will explore the concept of biofilm testing using DNA analysis and various modalities that can assist you in your effort to “battle pathogenic biofilm.”\nWe will address chronic inflammation as well as how to educate your client to be an advocate for their own health!\n\nNOTE:  Stage 4 is all about sustaining that improved level of health.  A big part of that involves introducing Oral Probiotics\, so be sure to join in for the May 25th webinar! \nLearning Objectives \n\nExplain the benefits of DNA microbial analysis as a risk assessment tool.\nIdentify methods that help assess disease and aid the client in understanding their condition.\nList several non-invasive treatment modalities that address the bacterial burden\, inflammatory component of PD\, and host response.\nDescribe the value of specific diagnostic tests that can help assess a client’s inflammatory burden.\n\nClick here to register

SUMMARY:Webinar: Influencing Health with Oral Probiotics with Lorraine Gambacourt\, RDH (Part 2)
DESCRIPTION:The supportive role of Oral Probiotics has been researched for more than 30 years. The introduction of oral probiotics in the maintenance phase of therapy can help to positively influence biofilm repopulation and promote oral microbial balance to improve outcomes of periodontal disease\, halitosis\, caries and more. Could this be the “missing link” to achieving long lasting\, more sustainable health outcomes? \nLearning Objectives \nAs an outcome of this course\, the participant will be able to: \n\nExplain how a healthy oral microbiome is compromised.\nEvaluate the large body of scientific evidence in support of oral probiotics.\nList the specific pathogens that are inhibited by various oral probiotic strains.\nIdentify a particular oral probiotic that can help reduce the incidence of ear and throat infections.\nDifferentiate between the types of oral probiotics available.\n\nClick here to register
