DESCRIPTION:Kerry Lepicek will present a review of home care tools that can enhance patients’ routines and treatment outcomes. Dental professionals must prioritize daily biofilm disruption to maintain oral health and prevent dental issues. \nIn this session\, we will evaluate traditional home care solutions like manual toothbrushes and floss\, while stressing the need for additional strategies. We’ll explore various interdental brushes\, focusing on their sizes and bristle configurations to meet the individual needs of patients. Tips for choosing the right brush size will also be shared. \nWe’ll highlight specialty brushes\, such as tufted or Interspace designs\, which are essential for accessing difficult areas\, especially around implants and bridges. Our aim is to improve patients’ adherence to home care practices and enhance their oral health outcomes\, empowering them to achieve effective care at home. \nREGISTER HERE \nObjectives: \n\nAssess the effectiveness of traditional home care tools in patient care routines.\nAnalyze interdental brushes\, focusing on their sizes and bristle configurations\, to determine their suitability for different patient needs\nHighlight the use of specialty brush designs to address specific anatomical challenges in patients with periodontal disease\, implants\, bridges\, or other restorations\nImplement communication strategies that promote patient engagement in home care and enhance their involvement in oral health maintenance.\n\nSpeaker: \nKerry Lepicek is a registered dental hygienist with over 20 years of clinical experience. SUMMARY:In Office Periodontal Management with Air-Powder\, Ultrasonic and Hybenx Technology: Five Steps to the Optimal Dental Hygiene Appointment
DESCRIPTION:Successful and predictable treatment of periodontal disease can feel overwhelming unless you have a strategic plan. This five step program is a clinical approach that combines ADPIE\, traditional modalities and new evidence based technology to achieve optimum clinical outcomes. These new technologies help to easily remove biofilm and mitigate or arrest active periodontal disease\, lessen operator physical effort during debridement\, while simultaneously improving the patient experience and treatment outcome. \nThis presentation reviews the steps and rationales for a successful and comfortable dental hygiene appointment utilizing erythritol air polish technology\, ultrasonic scaling and Hybenx Desiccation Shock Technology. Evidence will be presented to support all steps of the process\, as well as the appropriate sequencing of these technologies. New mechanical and chemical debridement technology can enhance non surgical periodontal therapy (NSPT) and help make periodontal disease management more predictable. \nObjectives of this program include: \n\nDiscuss limitations of convention SRP with ultrasonic\, hand scaling and rubber cup polishing.\nReview the five steps of ADPIE.\nIntroduce the five steps of the optimal dental hygiene appt.\nIntroduce supporting evidence for the use of air-polishing and Hybenx in a periodontal appointment.\nStep by step instructions for the five steps\, including air polish sequencing rationales.\nDiscuss where and when to apply Hybenx in an air polish appointment.\nReview decision making tree for maintenance of periodontal health and early gingivitis vs. periodontal disease.\n\nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Fireside Chat: Understanding and Implementing Salivary Diagnostics
DESCRIPTION:Are you curious about salivary diagnostics and how it can be implemented in your practice? Do you use the latest technology\, such as salivary diagnostics\, to identify risks and improve your patient outcomes? In this discussion with Kerry and Dr. Jim\, we will explore how to use the patient’s health history\, periodontal status\, and assessment information to determine when testing is recommended. Knowing the type and quantity of pathogens present is essential in developing a treatment plan that can reduce their numbers and maintain oral and systemic health. We will also discuss some systemic diseases associated with periodontal pathogenic bacteria and how this information can be conveyed. Oral bacteria tests are smart\, safe\, and simple and can help us identify the hidden oral pathogens that pose a future threat to your client’s oral and systemic health. \nSuggested QA Categories: D1\,D2\,D3\,D6\, E2\,E3 \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nCourse Objectives:\n\nUnderstand how to identify clients who could benefit from bacterial testing based on their health history\, periodontal status\, and other risk factors.\nAcquire knowledge on how microbiology\, periodontology and oral systemic link are connected.\nIdentify high-risk and moderate-risk pathogenic bacteria and their treatment solutions.\nDiscuss how to implement salivary testing in your practice.\nGain knowledge on how to communicate the report findings with your patient.\n\nSpeaker\nKerry Lepicek\, RDH is a registered dental hygienist with more than 20 years of clinical experience.
